Mr. Thierry Odermatt was employed from July 19, 2021 to September 10, 2021 as a community service worker in the University Psychiatric Clinics (UPK) Basel, in the area of management, in the department of information technology with a workload of 100%.

The IT department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the UPK IT infrastructure. All requests or malfunctions are received and processed via the service desk (hotline or mail). In more complex cases, the IT department also provides the interfaces to external partners. In addition, IT takes over the media technology for larger events and castles (relocation of departments).

The main tasks included:

  • Collaboration in first and second level support (helpdesk and onsite support)
  • Coordination with external partners for hardware repairs
  • Installation and configuration of various software and hardware on clients (W10)
  • Installation and configuration of multifunction printers in the network
  • Installation of Thinclients on Citrix basis
  • User administration in Active Directory and Exchange 2016
  • Introduction of new civilian service employees into the work area

We got to know and appreciate Mr. Odermatt as a committed employee who very quickly familiarized himself with the work processes. He understood the interrelationships and applied his knowledge quickly and in a targeted manner. Mr. Odermatt fulfilled the diverse tasks precisely, efficiently as well as persistently and always to our complete satisfaction. He made a great and valuable contribution to his work.

Mr. Odermatt was at all times correct, friendly and very helpful in his dealings with management and employees. He is a pleasant and trustworthy employee who showed a high degree of service understanding, which was extremely appreciated. Even in hectic situations, Mr. Odermatt was always friendly, competent and kept the overview. He was a great support to the team.

After completing his civilian service, Mr. Odermatt will leave the UPK Basel on September 10, 2021. We regret his departure very much and thank him for the very good and collegial cooperation. We wish him all the best and much success for his professional and private future.
